The announcement comes a day after the reclusive state destroyed an inter-Korean liaison office. North Korea said it will deploy military units to Mount Kumgang and the Kaesong industrial complex, both just north of the heavily fortified Demilitarized Zone. Kim Yo Jong, sister of North Korea’s Supreme Leader Kim Jong-un, on Wednesday “flatly” rejected South Korea's offer to send special envoys to defuse tensions. South Korea said it’s closely monitoring North Korean military movement and accused North Korea of "highly impolite rhetoric." South Korea also declared that it "will not be enduring these words and actions anymore," adding that the North will “certainly pay the price” if military action plans are executed.
