That is definitely a good move and I pray that all of the money goes to the family and it gets to them quickly... I hope it doesnot get stuck some where ,pending a signature of corrupted govt official who is looking for a Share .. Have heard lot of stories about these.. I think govt should reach out and get banking info and do a direct deposit instead of these families going to govt offices looking for these.. God be with them during these tough times

Indian army has programs for windows of war to make them self sustainable. In most cases, they get accommodation in army quarters and pension. In addition, they will get jobs in the program that makes them self sustainable. It's called AWA, Army wives association.

Basically their are two types of compensation one by central government other by state government.

Central government :-

• Death due to accident in course of duties or violence by terrorists etc- 10 lacs
• Death during enemy action in war or border skirmishes or in action against militants, terrorists etc- 15 lacs
• Death during enemy action in war or war like engagements specifically notified-20 lacs
• Concession in Railway & Air Travel

Benifits Provided by ARMY:-

• Army Group Insurance -Rs 15.00 to 30.00 lacs
• AGI Maturity- As per contribution
• Leave Encashment-As applicable
• Army Wives Welfare Association - Rs 6,000
• Army Officers Benevolent Fund-Rs 50,000 (Officers only)

By state government :-

• Most of states gives around Rs. 10Lacs
• Some states give land for home & other facilities like alloting Petrol Pump etc etc
• Almost all states (except few) discriminate between BSF and ITBP,CRPF because our central govt. hasn’t defined it clearly. For details please refer this video link; explaind by Ex. IG of CRPF ( NDTV Ravish Kr Pime T,Fake nationalism at its best #OROP#Arrest ABVP Goons)
• Delhi’s AAP government is exception here it has fixed Rs. 1 crore to any Army person KIA who is citizen of Delhi or KIA in Delhi of Any Armed Forces for Any rank Police officer or Fire worker or Home Gaurd.
