Reality... Not even COVID related but during COVID... happened around May 20th ....

My colleague's dad had a multi fracture fall at home... they couldnt get into any hospital unless they paid 1 Lakh in cash.. non refundable and non claimable in insurance...

hospital says it is emergency.. but we cant say whether you had corona or not.. as a precautionary we need PPEs for every doctor/nurse in ICU.. and a separate room until COVID results come.. so we charge non refundable...

 

if found to be COVID positive eventually.. another 1.5Lakh in cash non-refundable to release patientt... since they may have send their staff for quarantine blah blah... YASHODA hospital.. same in CARE too....

 

He was lucky.. earning good... had cash in hand... what if it was some middle class guy...?

Only 1 possible solution...

 

bring in a defense ordinance... take up all private hospitals/staff/machinery under govt for 1 year... enforce same rules at every hospital... 

no. of deaths can be reduced in a week or two... eventually all the hospitals will be overrun... but then another lockdown/new rules might help slow down the spread....
