Patanjali launches Coronil tablet which claims to cure covid-19

Balkrishna had earlier this month claimed that an Ayurvedic medicine developed by the company has been able to cure Covid-19 patients within 3-14 days.

Patanjali is launching the ayurvedic medicine for treating COVID-19 today at Patanjali Yogpeeth in Haridwar.

Acharya Balkrishna, MD of Patanjali Ayurved, had earlier this month claimed that an Ayurvedic medicine developed by the company has been able to cure COVID-19 patients within 3-14 days.

"After taking our medicine, COVID patients recovered in 3-14 days and then tested negative. So, we can say the cure for COVID is possible through Ayurveda. We are performing controlled clinical trials only. In the next 4-5 days, evidence and data will be released by us," Balkrishna added.

Covid-19: Patanjali launches Ayurvedic drug Coronil, Ramdev claims 100% results

Patanjali today launched Ayurvedic drug Coronil claiming it to be a medicine to treat Covid-19. Yoga guru Ramdev claimed the drug has 100% success rate.

Ayurvedic products giant Patanjali on Tuesday launched a new drug, Coronil which, the company claimed, is an evidence-based medicine for treatment of Covid-19, a pandemic caused by the novel coronavirus. Swami Ramdev, the yoga guru, unveiled the medicine at a press conference at Patanjali's headquarters in Haridwar, Uttarakhand.

Patanjali CEO Acharya Balkrishna had earlier this month claimed that a team of scientists had been working to develop a medicinal compound that could treat Covid-19. He claimed 100 per cent favourable results in trials.

Patanjali has said the research was undertaken by a joint team of the Patanjali Research Institute (PRI) and the National Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS), Jaipur. The product has been manufactured by Divya Pharmacy of the Patanajli.

Launching the medicine, Ramdev said, "The whole world has been waiting for someone to develop a medicine for coronavirus. Today, we are proud that we developed the first ayurvedic medicine for coronavirus. It has been named Coronil."

"We conducted clinical study on 100 patients. Around 65 per cent of them returned negative test results within three days," Ramdev said.

He said, "Hundred per cent patients got cured in seven days. We have prepared this medicine with adequate research. Our medicine has 100 per cent recovery rate and zero per cent death rate."

Ramdev claimed that Patanjali has followed "all scientific rules" in developing this ayurvedic medicine to treat Covid-19 patients.

The launch of an ayurvedic drug for Covid-19 by Patanjali has come at a time when more than 100 candidate-vaccines are various stages of development across the world. Some of the vaccines are in advanced stages of human trials.

The front-runners in the race for developing a Covid-19 vaccine are AstraZeneca, Moderna, Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson, Merck, Sanofi, BioNtech, and China’s CanSino Biologics.

Pending development of a vaccine, countries have allowed different combination of drugs earlier used to treat diseases such as Ebola, HIV-AIDS and previous coronavirus outbreak.

In India, some states have approved the use of homeopathy medicine Arsenic Album 30 by the general public as a prophylactic drug. It is treated as an immunity booster against Covid-19.

In Maharashtra, the worst-affected state, the government set up a task force to advise it on available traditional medicines. The task force prepared a list of ayurvedic and other traditional medicines as measures against Covid-19.

Baba Ramdev's Patanjali Ayurvedic Medicines has launched 'Coronil' anti-Coronavirus tablets to combat and prevent the spread of the deadly coronavirus

 

Patanjali Ayurvedic Medicines has launched 'Coronil' anti-COVID tablets to combat and prevent the spread of the deadly coronavirus. Researched by Patanjali Research Institute with clinical trails held at NIMS University, Jaipur, the anti-corona tablet was launched by Baba Ramdev on Tuesday. Clinical control trials were carried out adhering to standardized protocols of drug discovery to evaluate its efficacy, the company said. Within the span of 3 to 15 days, all the corona positive patients transformed into negative ones without observing any mortality, the company's release about the tablet claims. 

 

The COVID therapy suggested by Pantanjali is applicable for adults ranging between 15-80 years of age whereas children are advised to take half the dosage prescribed for adults. Further, Patanjali urged people to practice Yoga every morning in order to stay protected from the Coronavirus infection and to boost their immune system. Apart from boosting the pulmonary system of the body, these Ayurvedic medicines strengthen the human physiology to encounter the COVID-19 infection, Patanjali claims. 

Patanjali's anti-COVID tablet, called the Divya Coronil Tablet, consists of Giloy, Tulisi and Ashwagandha and is presrcibed to  be taken thrice a day with hot water 30 minutes after breakfast, lunch and dinner. Other medicenes includes Divya Swasari Vati, Patanjali Giloy Ghanvati, Patanjali Ashwagandha Capsule or Divya Ashwagandha Ghanvati:, Patanjali Tulsi Ghanvati and Divya Anu Taila & Divya Swasari Vati (for Nasal therapy). 

Patanjali also advised the intake of Swasari Kwath, Ashwashila Capsule, Chyawanprash, Honey, Immunocharge, Aleo Vera Juice, Giloy Juice, Shilajit Capsule, 1-1 drop of Shilajit Sat and Haldi (Turmeric) or Patanajli pure Kesar with milk.
