Why you shouldn’t smile in photographs

When it comes to getting photographs made, It’s not always about the smile.

Sure you want to remember what they looked like at this time in their lives.

and sure you want them to look happy and be reminded of happy times.

And yes, all humans recognise each other by facial features.

But seriously… sometimes it really isn’t about the ten watt mega beam.

It’s about feelings, and getting lost in the world that is completely and epically all their own. ♥️

A lot of my images for my clients I specifically go to capture moments, expressions and body language where the subject is not looking at the camera. And sometimes not even smiling…

Because to me life is more than just a smile.

Life is more than rainbows, butterflies, bubbles and roses.

There is soooo much more. And we owe it to ourselves to remember and treasure those moments
