Some big budget movie may go for pay per view... Amazon, YouTube can do that...Netflix by the business model can't. 

All of you forgot about Jio.. They promised by October they will do direct to home releases!

A 5 cr movie selling for even 6CR is great for producer...

For theatrical release you need to spend 

2 to 4 crores on marketing and other costs AND then it has to collect minimum 15cr to break even. 

Instead, 1 CR straight profit + still you have satellite , audio and remake rights
