I don't know much about computer specifications to be honest, I asked IT to suggest what I need based on my requirements and that's what they gave me.

Mac anytime - 100% usage using from 7 years - bought for 1500 - office laptop ala ina untadi so one time investment min 5 years vsthay

I deal with analyzing large datasets, sequencing data. I was using 4TB external hard drive with my Mac desktop computer before. When I was going to get a laptop with external hard drive, they suggested I get a 4TB solid state drive.
