do you consider the culture in slums as 'Indian culture'? you see pure energy, enthusiasm, cooperation etc there, even in the face of zero infra investment from the local govt into their communities. I don't love it, but that's also culture.

what is sold as Indian 'culture' is what upperclasses in India do. they are boring and worthless to me. why do you think Chennai is hated by everyone in India? Its culture is dominated by its lower class residents if you go beyond a few upperclass pockets. you can see that in the movies from TN.

btw, I hate all cultures. and I don't find Indian any particularly special to love it.

till the end of 16th century india was the richest country ... with 40% of world GDP ... (USA at its height was 33% of world GDP) ...
