I think he just wants to point the fact that, a guy with reservation  can clear certain stages in UPSC can easily get into the next stage with lesser marks compared to OC ... even though ranking is based on overall marks....a reserved category person can become ias officer for 3/4 digits rank also.  If a person without reservation wants IAS /IFS they need to achieve very high scores. Otherwise they settle for some random central govt position....while a person with equal marks but reservation gets a better position.

This is a very sensitive topic, anything can be used against you coming off as a fascist. I'm not against reservations, but there needs to be a thin line between appeasement and entitlement.

Anyway, I appreciate your friend's efforts for getting into IIT and doing well in her life.

I'm against reservation Akka

Why dalit intellectuals impose disabilities on themselves ,like Ambedkar said "dalits are kings who use to have high social status"

but they slowly reduced to untouchables

Kings should not ask for reservation, they should get it with hardwork

Universal education system by govt for all people should be needed in India ,so every person from dalit or of can be educated for free of cost ,so that they stop playing victim card

lol. is this the official BJP stance?

first let them implement universal education system... then talk about equality. most BJP ruled states have 20% child illiteracy.

also civil services is a sick institution that must be abolished.

because its a public institution, and all castes/religions have equal right to it. If dalits are underrepresented, then that must be corrected. simple.

they should be given good educaiton sare... but were they given? enduku babu sollu... mee CBN ichhaada good education?

rythulu neellu karuvu an osthey,, computer coding nerchukondi ani salaha ichina yedhava.

forward castes emanna cheskoni ra bhai. 1000 seats lo 500 seats vaallakey kadha... they represent around 20% of the population. 50% of seats available to them. inkenduku edupu.

I completely support reservation in education....people like u or me have the facilities to study and do well right at home...but the same doesnt apply for many. So they deserve to experience the best atleast institutionally. Jobs lo kuda kontha varaku ok. But a person who can receive the best education doesn't need to utilize job/ promotion related reservation ani feeling. This might compromise quality...especially in fields which may require more skill. Well again, it is hard to say who deserves or who doesn't. Personally I've seen all sorts of cases. So it should be left upto the individual to choose.

It is nonetheless a tough exam, I'm not demeaning anyone's efforts clearing it.

Anyway, I appreciate your friend's efforts for utilising the opportunity and getting into IIT . Glad she received education from one of the best tech schools in India

But, do you think someone who is a civil servant from a middle class upper class background will take decisions taking into account the discrimination that lower caste people would face? NO, why because they think like you, they think reservations are bad. I am not saying that we should let incompetent people do a job, but what you score in the exam doesn't decide how well you take decisions as an administrator. Besides, the exam is only in place to eliminate people, not to select people for the job. So, someone who faced discrimination would take decisions from their perspective different from you and me who never faced caste discrimination.

dalit cut off for seats is proof of their lack of privilege.

unless you think there's a conspiracy where all dalit kids decide to take it easy and underperform and not compete within themselves for those 15% seats.

they are doing the best they can within their circumstance, just like you are doing the best you can within yours.

If there's a problem, it is with the structure that creates huggge winners just based on where they study. try to correct it if you can.

don't cry on dalits. typical bjp guy.
