Depends on the tech and company and luck I personally know few guys 5 to 7 yrs less exp than me  in my company joined as freshers making 300 plus and in very good position and roles now. Also made lot of profits on rsu and espp and all. I got into fte too late with all yearly bonus, spot bonus and all now I make upto 160. right time right place applies to this too.

I personally feel 150k in Bay Area is normal these days.
