Vande Bharat Mission Phase 5 to start from 1 August: Air India

Air India announced on 26 July that the fifth phase of the Vande Bharat Mission, which is slated to begin from August 1, 2020, will see Indian carriers open up to many more international destinations.

Notably, the Vande Bharat Mission phase five will commence on a day the country will also enter unlock phase three.

Andhra Pradesh

All passengers are required to register themselves on Spandana.
websitehttps://www.spandana.ap.gov.in/and obtain clearance prior to booking their tickets.

All symptomatic passengers and all other passengers arriving from Chennai, Mumbai, Delhi, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh shall be sent to Institutional Quarantine for COVID test.

Institutional Quarantine may be at Government facility at no charge or paid quarantine at designated hotels.

After 7 days, all of the above customers shall be tested again

If the test result is negative, they shall be released and sent for Home Quarantine of 07 days

All other passengers shall be sent for 14 days of Home Quarantine after collecting swab upon arrival

If the swab test result is positive, they shall be sent to COVID Care Center or shall be asked to continue Home Quarantine as the case may be

Exemption can be given for business persons from Home Quarantine subject to they providing COVID negative certificate issued by ICMR authorized laboratory within the last three days of arrival.

Telangana

All international passengers shall be sent to 07 days of Institutional Quarantine at Government facility or at paid designated hotels.
Health Authorities shall decide about the Quarantine requirements for all other symptomatic passengers.

AIR INDIA

VANDE BHARAT MISSION (VBM) FLIGHTS ONWARDS CONNECTIONS -

1. Arriving from a Foreign Destination, landing at Delhi /Mumbai and desiring to go to theirfinal destination in lndia by a pure Domestic flight, after clearing the BORDER FORMALITIES(Customs and lmmigrations) at Delhi / Mumbai. These passengers are required to mandatorilyCOMPLETE QUARANTINE IN DELHI / MUMBAI before traveling onwards, to their finaldestination, and must not book same day connecting domestic flights.

Example:VBM Flight AI 126 – CHICAGO – DELHI & onwards AI 473 – DELHI - BHUBANESWAR

– NOT PERMITTED.

However, passengers arriving in Delhi / Mumbai and are having onward connection on the domestic leg of an international flight under Vande Bharat Mission are permitted as under:-

1. Arriving from a Foreign Destination, landing at Delhi / Mumbai and going to their final destination in lndia on the same flight / aircraft and clearing BORDER FORMALITIES (Customs and lmmigrations)at the final destination within India.

Example:VBM FLIGHT AI 1102 – NEW YORK – MUMBAI (FLIGHT OPERATING VIA DELHI)(SAME FLIGHT NUMBER / SAME AIRCRAFT – OPERATING - NEW YORK-DELHI-MUMBAI)

– PERMITTED.

2. Arriving from a Foreign Destination, landing at Delhi / Mumbai and going to their final destination in lndia by different aircraft (Change of Equipment) under the same flight number via theInternational to International transfer, and clearing BORDER FORMALITIES (Customs andlmmigrations) at the final destination within India.

Example:VBM FLIGHT AI 1142 – PARIS – DELHI – CHENNAI (FLIGHT OPERATING VIA DELHI)(SAME FLIGHT NUMBER / EQUIPMENT CHANGE SMALLER AIRCRAFT – OPERATING – PARIS –DELHI –CHENNAI)

– PERMITTED.

3. Arriving from a Foreign Destination, landing at Delhi / Mumbai and desiring to go to their finaldestination in lndia by different international flight / aircraft, via the International to International transfer meaning from one VBM flight to another VBM flight and clearing BORDER FORMALITIES (Customs and lmmigrations) at the final destination within India.

Example:

VBM Flt: - AI 188 operating Toronto – Delhi – Hyderabad &
VBM Flt: - AI 126 operating Chicago – Delhi – Thiruvananthapuram

A) Passenger from Toronto can be booked – TORONTO – DELHI – THIRUVANANTHAPURAM VBM FLIGHT AI 188 – TORONTO – DELHI & VBM FLIGHT AI 126 DELHI – THIRUVANANTHAPURAM

– PERMITTED.

Passenger from Chicago can be booked – CHICAGO – DELHI – HYDERABAD VBM FLIGHT AI 126 – CHICAGO – DELHI & VBM FLIGHT AI 188 DELHI – HYDERABAD

– PERMITTED.

Passengers booked to the final destination on "VANDE BHARAT MISSION” Evacuation flights will be mandatorily quarantined at the destination upon arrival.

However, passengers booked on "Vande Bharat Mission” Evacuation flights andtravelling onwards to domestic destinations against a separate ticket will have tocomplete Customs, Immigration & Quarantine at the first port of entry and thenundertake the journey to the final destination, only after the completion of QuarantineRequirement.

Passengers travelling into India are advised to check the Standard Operating Protocol for Movement of Indians Stranded outside the Country & Guidelines for International Arrivals, duly notified by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA): CLICK HERE
