May be in olden days the ratio was skewed - boys died at a younger age because of war/disease etc. It is not the case anymore. Creating wrong expectations for men ala ayithe.

That is how it was. Large armies were maintained to wage wars in those days. Inevitably men would die. So they made it legal (through holy books or whatever) for more than one woman to marry a man. Polygyny is a big issue in Russia and Eastern Europe. @keviinusa They really want to relax the laws so that it is possible for more women to marry men. However, their economic situation is not conducive for it. Hard to have multiple wives when you are not making a lot of money tbf.
