MP instigates farmers to file cases against Jagan

Taking his rebellion against the YSRCP to its peak, party MP from Narasapuram parliamentary constituency Kanumuru Raghurama Krishna Raju on Wednesday sought to provoke farmers of Amaravati against the Jagan Mohan Reddy government.

Hailing the directions of the state high court stalling the shifting of administrative capital to Visakhapatnam and asking the government to maintain status quo on the three capitals order, Raju described it as the first victory of Amaravati farmers.

He said since the state government had acquired lands under land pooling scheme for a specific purpose, the decision of the Jagan government to form three capitals was against the law and amounted to betrayal of the farmers.

“It is a crime and the Jagan government is liable for prosecution under Section 405 of the Indian Penal Code (Criminal Breach of Trust). So, all the 29,000 farmers can file criminal cases against the government,” Raju said.

He called upon every woman farmer who gave the land for Amaravati capital to approach the nearby police station and file a case individually against the Jagan government for betrayal.

“Generally, the police will not accept such complaints. But since a case is being fought in the high court, such a move will help strengthen the cause of the farmers,” the YSRC MP said.

He expressed confidence that the final victory would be that of the farmers, though justice might be delayed to some extent.

“This case will also be a landmark case and the Jagan government would have to face the same situation as had happened in case of Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar issue,” Raghurama Raju said.
