that's a different issue and could be due to one or more of many reasons..

ithara kulalni intlo ki kuda ranivanni rojullo.. she married someone from a different jathi.. have to appreciate her forward thinking mind

racial mixing didn't start in 2000s.. it has been happening for 1000s of yrs of human history. lets not lower the bar so much to give credit for simple things like marrying someone one loves.

kamala herself doesn't play up the indian heritage. lite teesko.

she's a corporate shilling scumbag, who is a proud brahmin first and foremost. The tamil part is just an afterthought.

Are you serious dude? Is it her choice to be born to a Brahmin mom. You are trying to blame her for what she has no control of like rest of the caste freeks.  She was still considered as Black where she was raised and hadnt have any race previlage.

If you think she doesnt play up for her indian heritage, why do you think she is proud of being  brahmin? You are just contradicting yourself.

stop acting like brahmins are oppressed. she won't play up her indian/brahmin heritage because its useless in politics in the US. but she's raised by a single brahmin mother..

at many occasions she has referred to her mother's marriage as a radical departure from a tradition with a lineage that goes back 1000yrs,

she's clearly a proud brahmin, but she'll stick to being 'black' for politics. you may get kicks in pretending to be offended at someone mentioning that she's a brahmin, but like I said overwhelming number of friends I have are brahmin. And I know how flexible they are with using that label when it suits them, and call it 'broad minded'.

if you are offended by calling someone a brahmin, when they themselves identify as such on occasions, you need to calm down. is brahmin a bad word or something?

mockery for someone calling themselves or acting 'brahmin' is unavoidable dude. This is the 21st century.. you all have caste names. No one goes around calling themselves shudras, for instance. Its okay to mock brahmins.

why does anyone identify as a brahmin, when they are doing s/w jobs then? stop acting like a kid dude.

She has nowhere played up her Tamil ethnicity. TamBrams use Tamilness  just for victim mongering... and obviously having grown up in the US, she doesn't care about that anti-DMK politics that brahmins in TN play like fcuking kids.

I was simply pointing it out.

lol. wtf is 'race privilege'? do you think Indian kids with doctor mothers need any special privilege? and her father was a stanford professor too..

not just Indian kids, kids of any race are privileged when they grow up in that kind of a household.

she was extremely privileged. She can pretend fake tears on debates, but its not fooling anyone.

take it easy. your racist friends from the republican party don't care that she's a brahmin and won't play it up that much. she herself doesnt care about it beyond sharing tasteless jokes with peers on the subject.

the point is, she's not Tamil. Not even one bit. I'll change my mind if she gives a speech in tamil or an extensive interview in Tamil.

you have a kid that's raised in the US, pretty sure they won't give a fcuk to India or what happens in India.

unless you brainwash them ofcourse.

there are enough problems in the US for kids to be worrying about some 3rd rate country somewhere where their parents were born in. When they come to voting age, most of them vote dem, because the other party is overtly racist.

sub altern in AP/TG haven't yet found their voice. all i hear are voices of uppercaste for the most part. you guys live in your own constructed world.follow 3rd rate idiots like RGVPuri for inspiration. your world is too small and disgusting.

lend a hand to fellow telugu obc/dalits and see how radically telugu society changes.

I mean lend an ear.. you don't have to help.. just listen to what they have to say.

So if one parent is Brahmin and the other is not, she still is Brahmin?

so what made her tamil?

in reality, she's neither brahmin nor tamil. but she has publicly acknowledged the brahmin part atleast.

Tamil Brahmins are more brahmins than Tamil. Its true. but they are offended by this remark.

Their actions however show us that they don't really care. like prominent TamBrams vulgar praise for sinhalese nationalists and their vicious attacks on Tamil Tigers..

ofcourse those Tambrams who are raised in the US have different ways of expressing their 'top caste'ness than actively aiding and whitewashing genocide of fellow Tamils.
