Sita was Ayonija, one of non-uterine birth. Her birth was divine. How can she not be powerful?

Sita was Shakti. Sita was Sri Lakshmi Devi herself. She was the Shakti of the Universe. She was the cause and inspiration of Lord Rama and was as powerful as Him.Valmiki Ramayana was actually the magnificent tale of the great Sita. It is known as Sītāyah Charitam Mahāt. One should understand that there is no difference between Rama and Sita.

One should never consider Sita as a helpless, meek and docile woman. She was not a weeping Abala Nāri. She was not a victim of patriarchy. She possessed great mental strength and willpower and was indeed Rama's strength. Her Story should be carefully understood and interpreted.

Now, coming to Sita's physical strength, it is believed that Sita was able to lift the powerful and heavy Shiva Dhanush at a tender age. In fact, an impressed King Janaka decided to hold a contest only after this incident. This incident is not mentioned in Valmiki's Ramayana, though. Sita was able to walk through the dangerous forests in the company of Rama. The thorns and demons didn't hurt Her. Even though Sita was physically grabbed by Viradha and Ravana, She fought as much as She could and made Her husband slay Her abductors. She was so powerful.

Her mental strength and chastity were Her greatest powers. She had a strong and bold mind and never hesitated to stand up for herself and speak her mind. Sita was so powerful that the lusty ogre Ravana, who was feared by the three worlds and who had violated many women, was powerless in front of Sita. Sita was resilient and firm. She was never swayed away by Ravana's charms and threats. Sita had the power to reduce Ravana into ashes with the power of Her chastity. She spared Ravana's life so that Rama, who had incarnated to kill Ravana, could rescue Sita and prove His valour. Towards the end, Ravana felt scared because of Sita!

Sita had the ability to control fire with the power of Her chastity and devotion to Rama. In Sundara Kānda, when Hanumān set Lanka ablaze, Sita prayed to Agni to make him cool down the fire be harmless towards Hanuman.

tadaa = then; saa = she; aasiit = was maN^galaabhimukhii = wishing for the welfare; mahaakapeH = of Hanuma; vishaalaakSi = the large-eyed Seetha; prayataa = with her devoted self; upatasthe = worshipped; havya vaahanam = the fire-god.

Then, the large-eyed Seetha, wishing for the welfare of Hanuman, prayed the fire-god with her devoted self.

"If I have done any service to my husband, if I have performed a penance and if I am a faithful wife, please be cool to Hanuman."

"If the wise Rama has even a little of kindness to me and if I have still some good fortune remaining to my credit, please be cool to Hanuman”.

यदि माम् वृत्त सम्पन्नाम् तत् समागम लालसाम् || ५-५३-३०

30. saH dharmaatmaa yadi = If that virtuous Rama; vijaanaati = understands; maam = me; vR^ittasampannam = as endowed with a good moral conduct; tatsamaagama laalasaam = ardently desirous of meeting him; bhava = be; shiitaH = cool; hanumataH= to Hanuma.

"If that virtuous Rama recognises me as one,, who is endowed with a good moral conduct and who is ardently desirous of meeting him, please be cool to Hanuman”

Hanuman realized that fire cannot harm fire, for Sita was the blazing fire.

athavaa = or else; kalyaaNii = Seetha the auspicious lady; chaarusarvaaNgii = having completely charming limbs; rakSitaa = protected svena tejasaa = by her own effulgence; na nashiSyati = does not get destroyed; agniH = fire; na pravartate = doe no do injury agnau = into fire.

"Or else, Seetha the auspicious lady, who is completely charming of her limbs and protected by her own effulgence, does not get destroyed. Fire does not indeed destroy fire!"

When Rama disowned Sita and asked Her to seek shelter elsewhere, Sita did not break down and plead. She understood Rama's words and acted like a woman of strength would. She proved Her purity by entering the Fire. Her chastity made Her pass through the fire unscathed. Rama Himself acknowledged Sita's character.

After Queen Sita was abandoned by Rama, Sita wept and was sad but She sent a message through Lakshmana assuring Rama not to worry about Sita and to care for the subjects without bearing any grudge towards them. Such was Sita's strength which made Her confident and forgiving. Sita also raised Her sons single-handedly and made them strong, talented and virtuous.

There is also a story in Adbhuta Ramayana about how Sita killed Sahastra Ravana in Her Kāli Swaroop. The demon was stronger than Sri Rama Himself. This shows that Sita was the cause and energy of the universe and She allowed Herself to be kidnapped so that She could assist Her Husband in establishing Dharma.

What about people who comment on politics and celebrate ethnic superiority then?

All of this are hubris of modern age. God is a stand up comedian no one enjoys anymore.
