I have a doubt about ancient Hindu scriptures. I think we should look at Ramayana as a novel, rather than a sacred book. So, based on this novel, I am trying to understand why people call Seeta as a Goddess. From what I understand, Seeta is an incredibly beautiful woman, who was loyal to her husband even in the face of adversity. Is that all it takes to be a Goddess, to sit around and look pretty, and be loyal to your husband? What did Seeta do that other princess haven't done? Is it because she had to separate from her husband for 13 or so years? Or is it because she left to the forest with her husband? Why is she a Goddess? I am trying to understand the character arc of Seeta, so don't bring any butthurt comments about religion.

It's true, I guess it was retrogressive to a certain extent and didn't age well.

its a story. those who believe its history are dumbfcuks. most of these stories were written around 500bc, and were passed down for 100s of yrs before that orally.

they became gods in the 10th century onwards may be. until then, they were just stories

depending on the narrator, Sita's story changes. in a lot of stories, she comes across as a strong woman who challenged her husband, kept a monster at bay, and not a damsel in distress.

I have a theory that Ramayana, Mahabharata were written for an essay competition in Sanskrit. they compiled all the best stories and wove it into a grand narrative. hehee...

Why is Seeta a Goddess? Because she is a devoted wife? A lot of people are.

What do you think? If you seem to have no clue which seems to be the case, please consider reading before drawing to baseless conclusions

Who says Tirumala was a vaishnavaite center then? let the pujaris allow for the idol in tirumala to be examined to verify its authenticity

shankaracharya wrote on vishnu aa? are you trying to troll me or something?
