Why do people in management get paid more?

People in management don't do the work but tell people to do this and that, but still make a lot of money. Why?

Yeah, they don't do any work other than sit in front of the computer and attend meetings, telling people what to do.

team members usually don’t have the visibility on why they are doing what they are doing..

I don't see all that tbh. All I see is meeting on what to do and what they like or don't like.
