This is more apt because the shape of the statues that we use are just imagination of rishis and saints long back.

 

As per Vedas (Claimed to be given by god himself), god will never be born,  dont have a shape 

Yajur Veda (32.3)

Yes, thats why we do Ganesh Idols in various Shapes/Characters. 

 

But the moment you think the Idol itself is god, or the god is in the Idol then you are wrong.

God exists every where and inside everything so so does not contradict what ever you said..so nothing wrong in worshipping idols. Photo badulu rayi is the ante ? Did not get you.

I am not saying vigraha pooja is the wrong way to worship. But, I am saying vigrahanni poojinchi, nerchukovalsina manchini marichipokudadu. Some of the practices promote ignorance. For example, 10 days of vinayaka chavithi celebrations, 100 feet statues, nimarjanam. These are not what Hinduism is about. E vigrahaarathana perutho, asalu pooja vidhanam enduku chestaro telikunda promoting ignorance in this form is wrong.
