agree..

if peoples imagination gives comforts to them...nothing wrong in that...

but if people started thinking imagination is the only reality...and fight for that imaginary reality..then the problem starts...

Its a purely political fight though.

I know there are several little ways where god believers will exercise power that seems harmless at first glance, but eventually adds up to what we have in India today.

a lot of 'well meaning' people can turn monsters in a second, even if they don't take up arms by hiding behind that solidarity over culture or god. So the fight against this is extremely hard and complex.

but that fight doesn't start with the question 'is there god?' in fact, at this point, god is immaterial. you can simply assume everyone is a god believer, and attack the actions that are socially harmful.

In fact, most of the monsters in today's society probably don't even believe in god, in the way you traditionally define god. They believe in power. and the man's ability to exercise it. I think its fine to use god to cut these men/women to size.

My point is not about if god exists or not..

my sole point is do we need a translators like pujaris or pastors who make money in the name of god..

cant we utilize that money by helping our poor ppl around keeping the idea of god in our heart itself?

why should i shell out my money in hundis n fill dollar seshadri pockets?

only @Paidithalli can answer this with 2 or 3 paragraphs big essay LkHbBa-shared.gif

without pujaris or pastors, religion will quickly fade away.

what are you even saying?

utlize that money to help the poor can be done within the structures of temples too.

lets not pretend like most people in the upper middle class really wanna help the poor. If thats true, then there's no need for god itself.

your brahmin bashing is hollow.
