1. More spending on college sports, stadiums and fancy buildings and amenities.

2. Bloated admin staff. But they don’t spend on hiring good professors. Tenured professors are very few now a days across many colleges. Many of them are contract workers. 
3. Govt spending on education is going down every year. One source of income for state in education is lottery income. Colleges are relying more on increasing fees.
