GMR Group holds first right of refusal for any new airport in Delhi. Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) commenced financing for the Jewar Noida International Airport project.

GMR was one of the bidders but they rejected it, 

 

Flughafen Zurich AG announced it was selected as the preferred bidder for a 40-year concession to design, develop and operate Jewar Noida International Airport in India. 

 

Between 23- and 25-Feb-2019 the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to inaugurate the Jewar Noida International Airport (JNIA), a.k.a. the New Greater Delhi Airport redevelopment project, by laying a foundation stone for the (up to) USD3.1 billion project, which will be the largest airport in India by surface area.

Delhi Airport Inauguration , This new terminal was timed to be completed for the 2010 Commonwealth Games, which was held in Delhi and is connected to Delhi by an eight-lane Delhi Gurgaon Expressway and the Delhi Metro. The terminal was officially inaugurated on 3 July 2010, GMR is careful guy, he has ample of time to close all the loopholes

The airport is operated by Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL), a Joint Venture between the Airports Authority of India and the GVK Industries Ltd led consortium^[11] which was appointed in February 2006 to carry out the modernization of the Airport.^[12] The new integrated terminal T2 was inaugurated on 10 January 2014
