Anta Assamey
Since quite some time we have been noticing how Chandrababu Naidu has been coming up with statements that are in direct contradiction with what he used to claim proudly a few years ago. Now, it appears that his son Nara Lokesh is following suit. The latest example to that is the Direct Benefit Transfer and the contrasting stand Lokesh is taking on it currently. About a decade ago, Lokesh announced that the Direct Benefit Transfer is his brainchild and pushed the Cash Transfer Scheme in a big way. Cut to the present, the same Lokesh is now in strong opposition to the Cash Transfer Scheme being implemented for the farmers. He is now calling it a ‘conspiracy to kill farmer’. Lokesh has further added that this would prove to be a burden to the farmer and this is the dubious scheme of the YCP government. Well, the experts say it is nothing but the classic example of ‘An apple doesn’t fall far from the tree’. Just like his father Chandrababu, even Lokesh seems to be flipping on his past commitments and based on the mere fact that they are in the opposition, they are raising their voice against just about anything without any rationale. Many are saying "Yathaa Janaka Thathaa Puthraa" (like father, the son is) Of course, some are also commenting that Lokesh doesn’t have the aptitude to show such games and it is clearly the orientation he is getting from his father.
