The UAE has approved a Chinese-made coronavirus vaccine for emergency use

The vaccine, developed by China's Sinopham, will be given to the UAE's frontline workers.

According to NCEMA, 31,000 volunteers in the UAE have already participated in clinical trials of the vaccine, including 1,000 volunteers with chronic diseases.

Phase three trials of the vaccine are ongoing, but Emirati officials say that no unexpected side effects had been detected thus far.
