I believe coding concepts are needed and it could develop logic if properly taught like how math and science are taught. I would say, why we need to learn writing, spellings etc as everything will be digital in future as long as you can speak that should be good

I personally think you should make them attend the classes and see if that's something they like and let them pick it up if they show interest in it rather than forcing them to do it ....

It's just like any other hobby or interest that some kids might like

Stats may not be interesting for a kid of 6 to 9 years. Where as developing a small game and playing would be and he can share with others
