Declaration anedi more or less voluntary ae kada...when entering the temple, you don’t have a system to recognize the devote’s religion..you have to declare yourself and sign ...unless physical appearance valla emana identify cheyagaligithe thappa otherwise no..

More over this declaration stuff itself is so insulting...Gudi loki velle mundu needi ae matham ani adiginatu..

There is a provision - Person name lo non-Hindu name unna declare cheyyali. Or person religous allegiance already thelisi unte, they need to declare (this applies very well to famous people who are non-hindus and the whole world, including TTD knows about it). Both rules apply to Jalaganna. He has Samuel in his name (may be not correct) and everyone knows he is Christian.
