Basically here is the summary. JENNIFER Doudna showed Crispr in bacteria. Feng Zhang showed Crispr in human cells 6 months later. MIT and UC Berkeley have been in fierce patent battle for a few years now. And Feng Zhang is going to get millions from the patent battle. However, he is left out from the Nobel Prize.

Yeah, but he proved to the patent committee that he used a completely different approach, different reagents. Since human cells are more important for industry, he is kind of winning the patent battle against Jennifer Doudna. A lot of industry is building around Crispr, so whoever wins the patent war will be the next billionaire.

Also gene editing in bacteria tho compare cheste gene editing in human has more value to industry.

Not dost, he used to be PhD student long before I joined. He has his research group at MIT.

but do you think its fair to leave out this guy from Nobel; for scientific community having a nobel has more weightage than having a patent and minting millions

I have no regards for these researchers public money toh research chesi, patents valla peru pettukuntar. kanisam research papers kuda public domain lo available vundav waste fellows
