Doctors in USA

I'm done with USMLE step 1

Preparing for further exams.

I'm engaged to a person staying in Canada...As licensing exams are very tough in canada, I chose to prepare for USMLE.

Now people are saying they tightened rules for H1B visa.

How can this affect doctors?

Can I still prepare for USMLE in this situation?

Suggestions plz

My partner not interested with this option...he will be getting Canadian citizenship in next 6 months.

And he is in a good job.

Can't ask him to risk his career for me.

Even he is not interested.

Or else Germany is a good option Actually.

You don't need H1B to do residency, most residents are on J1. Most places give H1B after residency. Also if you become a doctor at a hospital affiliated with a University, H1Bs are not through lottery.

If your partner gets a citizenship, you will also eventually become a citizen after getting married (in few years).. right? Isn’t it easy to get Canadian citizenship and study in USA? I heard Canadians don’t require a visa to study in US. US MLE exams clear cheyadaniki 2 yrs pattuddi kadaa.. so better take that route.. MLE has become tougher and tougher now.. very few people are getting opportunities and that too with contacts..  better have multiple options..

If your partner getting Canada citizenship, then you don’t need H-1 to work here.

just TN is enough to work here.
