Guys, whatever people say abt cost of living in hyd, please dont stick to that numbers..........anni hyped numbers unnay......i moved to india an year back after staying in usa for 11 yrs and worked in usa for 8 yrs.......we have 1 yr old kid, and staying with parents.......so school expenses gurinchi no comments...........we have own house and own car, so emi's emi levu.......i will comment on all other expenses for family of 5 (me,wife, 1 kid and parents)........

shopping -> 10k

electricity -> 3k (except is summer it will be high)

food & grocery -> 15k

water & cable -> 1k

car & scooty gas/ maintanence -> 6k

internet/amazon prime/hotstar/netflix etc -> 2k

maid -> 4k

baby expenses  lyk diaper, baby oil, cream, milk etc, vaccine-> 2k

thats it, those are our expenses approximately from the past 1 yr......i didn't included medical as not sure on parents medical expenses so far,  vacation also not included as we didn't go for any vacation because of covid pandemic, including rough figures for that also below.....

medical -> 6k

vacation -> 10k

any other miscalaneous and buffer expenses -> 6k

so, adding all those, it is cmng to 65000 including vacation, miscaleanous expenses also.......whatever i posted are reality figures which also include expenses of some luxury things also......infact i increased around 20% for every category and posted them......so to conclude with 65 to 70k we can live luxuirously in hyd if you have own home and own car and no other mortgages.....not going to complete high end school, i am adding 15k towards kids school, then it will come to 80k per mth for all expenses including vacation, misceleanous luxry items also.........

oka chinna example.......i lived in texas before cmng to india an year back.......nenu apt rent, car emi exclude cheste, i used to spend $1500 per mth for family of 3 including small kid which doesnt include vacation, miscaleanous which i mentione above......after comverting $ to inr, us lo ne 1 lakh ki family expenses ipothe exluding rent/car emi (because india lo own house, own car kabatti) hyd lo avvakapovatam enti........

Good analysis Bro!

Regular middle class people ki 50k is more than enough. Showoffs and comparisons ki pothe minimum 1.5L undaali.

naaku thelisina vaallu 50k salary tho manage chesthunnaaru. kontha mandhiki 2L koodaa saripovatledhu. Oka maid ni, driver ni pettukuntaaru. Expensive restaurants ki pothaaru. Frequent ga cars change chesthaaru. ilaa they keep adding up more and more..

School (incl transportation, uniform, stationary) : Around 6k (for 1 kid) - International schools kante manchi schools local ga chala ne untayi which are really good like DAV, Rajadhani e.t.c

Phone+Internet: Around 2k (Airtel Internet+landline: 1299+ (Jio 200+200+150+150))

Cable: 400

Food: 12k

Vehicle: 10k

Shopping: 5k (Variable)

Electricity: 3k

Water: 2k

Housing: Living with family & parents ante rent badulu own house/apartment better. Instead of paying rent we can pay EMI. So for 3BHK - 30k

Medical (incl insurance): Variable but for a good month 10k should be good enough to kept aside

Saving for vacation: 10k

So overall 1.5L/month tho family of 5 or 6 bindass ga bratikeyachu.

90k ki super lekka cheppi malli 1.5L unte baaguntundi anttavendi bhayya

Depends on how you want to live. I know people that spend 5L per month and people that live on 50k per month. It all depends on the scale and lavishness.. Biggest cost is accommodation, if you have your own house or apartment, rest of the expenses can be adjusted depending on how you want to live. It can vary anywhere between 50k to 5 Lakhs based on your life style..

Needs or wants or luxuries?

What is your goal?

To me, needs meet ayyi avasaram (unexpected unplanned expenses) aite, 2-3 lakhs immediate ga kharchu pettagaligite chalu.

Kids school ki no compromise le. That would be the most expensive kharchu every month.
