Terrible move , modi's government will be forever remembered for such short-sighted rules that benefit only the bania industrialists from competition . 

It govt really wants to protect local industry they should just restrict imports from only china under National security . 

Blanket ban on all other countries mean our industry has no incentive to improve and compete with others around the world .

 

For example govt restricted tyre imports early this year and all domestic manufacturers increased prices by 10-15% for the restricted categories because they have no competition . Only the customer loses and the Industry becomes compacent and can't compete with anyone . 

We are adopting more rules like Pakistan and Bangladesh is slowly embracing free market and surpassed us this year

India should be open for free trade with every other nation (except Chinese origin goods) . We need to compete with the best of the best . If our market is attractive , companies will setup shop on their own instead of this coercive steps . 

Modi governments protectionism is only helping his industrialists and harming the normal people . 

These short sighted measures will only harm the industry in the medium to long run as it gives no incentive for companies to improve 

For example the decision to ban tyres meant indian consumera are getting fleeced by few companies as the size of our  market for niche items is too low for foreign players to justify investment .   Domestic companies have no incentive to drop price or improve product as it has no competition

How can india with the cheapest labour rate unable to compete with countries that have several times  the manpower costs ?  Complete and total failure of government

You can't keep blaming china for these rules , under WTO india  can invoke national security clause and place restrictions of Chinese origin goods . 

What they are doing is total blanket ban on all countries . 

What's even more funny about modi govt policies  is that  the only International companies investing in indian manufacturing are Chinese to a large extent and Koreans

Why do people have a problem buying stuff from Ambani ? I mean, better than importing right ? Ambani May become more and more powerful and add billions to his wealth, but why do anyone have a problem with it ? Is Ambani robbing your money ? Like day light robbery ? Are you not happy using Jio ?

If this Happens very good chances of missing Imported AC brands like Fujitsu General, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries AC which have way way superior quality than ones made in India...
