After TV sets & tyres, govt bans AC imports in its latest bid to boost domestic production

I just read the news completely, they have imposed ban on fully assembled units..that means full operable unit..!!! 
 

This is a good development...AC lo main part compressor and motor..outer fiber body and other parts are however readily available...it’s compressor and motor which needs the push and this step has given the push...This is a boon for MSME’s. All those AC fitter strained at ITI’s will get to utilize their skills...!!!

Daikin now manufactured in India not imported, Haier also isn't too bigger name when it comes to ACs..

Voltas, Godrej,Bluestar, Daikin, Carrier are all made in India only but spares could well be imported from China..

Actually Inverter Split AC lo ekkuva dobbedhi PCB boards... There is actually a circutry done by most of Indian companies, AC input nunchi direct Indoor unit current ichi and then its looped to Out door unit...

Top brands like Fujitsu General & Mitsubishi Heavy Industries AC it different they supply the Input to out door unit and then looped to Indoor unit lots of such stuff is considered in premium brands although they are bit costly but give you life and energy savings and have higher efficiency..

None stopping them to setup manufacturing unit in India.. its reasonable to bargain on local demand rather than importing blindly..

I just googled as I don’t have idea on it looks like haier carrier Samsung all are made in China... but atleast in us I had to get portable ac for summer I was reading LG manual and it said assembled in Taiwan ... which implied parts made in China but assembled in China ... but I dint understand the why that question?

Blue Star / Voltas are decent , not top of the line stuff but they perform good for their cost

We have to be realistic , Tata and mahindra make good cars but they are not top end stuff like BMW , audi , etc . 

Bluestar is still behind Ogeneral , mitsubishi AC's but they also cost 50% more . 

I will be making a disservice to blue star to say that they are the best AC
