Both are kind of similar. Austin has more younger desi crowd compared to Dallas. Weather is almost same (Austin little more humid). Austin has outdoor activities compared to Dallas. Dallas is bigger metropolitan  Desi community wise, Dallas has a big plus, especially if you have kids. Dallas has better schools. Cost of living almost same in both places.
