Canada and the UK announce transitional trade agreement ahead of Brexit deadline

On Saturday, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced that the two countries have agreed to continue trading under the same terms as the current European Union agreement following the Brexit transition period. The deal, which will avert new tariffs on Canadian exports, needs to be ratified by both governments.
