Continuation to old thread

I have used several dash cameras,

1. Go pro

2.  Auto vox dual dash camwra

3. Amcrest dash camera

https://amcrest.com/amcrest-acd-830b-1080p-car-camera-dvr-with-nightvision-motion-detection-super-wide-160-viewing-angle-1920x1080-h-264-up-to-64gb-sdhc.html

4. Thinkware f200d is my current dash cam.

Bestbiy jnstalls the dash cam and they charged 400$ including price of dash cam ,

Make sure they place rear camera on the rear windsheild not driver facing .

Features to look for

1. Type of battery. Lithium ion with shield that doesnt burn the battery in heavy hot sun.

Camera should be weather proof

2. Parking record with motion sensor .Make sure it records while parked.

3. Impact sensor. It saves the video file from bejng overwritten, when accident happens .

4. Wifi connectivity , to download videos to phone while connecting through wifi.

Some cameras have bluetooth and cloud connectivity but they are expensive. They basically upload files to cloud when your park car in your garage while automatically connecting to wifi ! Cloud storage might be extra price.

5.gps tracker. My camera comes with gps tracker..

6. Night vision

------

Brands:

Blackvue dr900s-2ch is the best camera in market

Kenwood, garmin all sold and installed by bestbuy. Budget within 250$ install and cost of camera

I use autovox as well, .you can also use old android phone as dashcam but your phone cant overheat in texas heat or freeze in boston winter

Does adding this void any warranties on a brand new car?

Not if you get it done from authorised retailers like bestbuy..they talk to car care center if they have questions
