Tesla has 3billion + miles of real time data and waymo has 20million miles of real time data which covers almost 80-85% of road possibilities to make decisions how ever Apple was spotted testing in one of the stadium not live traffic .. Dont know about airpods. But apple watch development started back in 2010/11. steve jobs had a list of gadgets which apple has to work.
