buddhism was the catalyst for creation of this modern religion which we now accept as hinduism.

Until then, Brahmins were the only ones that followed these rituals, and the rest of the society hardly gave a fcuk to all these weirdos chanting mantras, and pretended like they held power.  It took more than 500yrs for Hinduism to spread across India from Tamilnadu/kerala.

lately Hindutva seems to take a lot of inspiration from Islam/Xianity,  but its original inspiration was buddhism, and Hinduism spread like any other religion. through the power of throne and by special privileges accorded to those who declare themselves Hindu.

But it is still vague like in the original interview. It never gave any proper direction as to what is right and what is wrong to any believer and generally unrelatable. I mean how can we relate to people like Krishna with 16000 wives or Rama going in pushpak viman. The core of hinduism is always casteism - as long as you know your place it never really mattered what you believed in - you can worship pochamma or kali or even ghosts like those people in kasi.  Ambedkar said it right when he said Hinduism is law enforcing actions not religion providing moral guidance.

Its very hard to distill a 1000yrs of work into a digestible moral framework with a dozen laws. Other religions like Xian/Islam had a few people tht came up with these codes just under a century after their founder passed away.

Hinduism doesnt look like a religion, because it isn't one. Hinduism tries to include 1000s of disparate stories and viewpoints into building its moral framework, 90% of these stories are not even accessible to the regular 'hindu'.

everytime you talk to a reasonably practising brahmin, you learn something about hindu mythology. because that is how removed everyone else is from that religion.

In a way Hinduism is complex, and its complexity is pissed on all over by the simplistic stupidity of hindutva. Not that hinduism is not casteist, but to say that it provides no moral guidance is wrong. Its more right to say that Hinduism is not egalitarian, and doesn't pretend to be, because it is imposed on the population by brahmins who hold the pole position.

no religion is better. religion exists as a means to find connection among people that goes beyond materialist motivations.

once politics enters into the picture, every religion becomes tainted. It deserves all the mockery, since it cheapens both the political discourse and the spiritual discourse.

Political Islam is the same sh1t as Hindutva. happy? go sleep now.

Only Hinduism and Islam?  Migatha religions em velagabettayo avi kooda veyyi.

anyway, almost all the assholes who carry water for HIndutva have no idea what Hinduism is, and if they are practising Hindus.. pretty sure, no one can practise hinduism in the modern world.

its just a tribal war for power, in the captive region called India.

these guys picked the stupidest, easily available tool for this war - Hindutva. Even a kid can understand what it is.

there are two groups - us, and others. and who the 'others' are is a changing group. tomorrow many Hindus can land in the other group. Its a simple power grab. nothing more.

people who indulge in it, talk it up etc are fcuking fools. or part of the power structure that benefits from this idiocy.

rey. rey.. I'm not interested. I'm not knowledgeable enough. These are things I learnt from conversation and using my judgement.

my interests lie elsewhere in space tech, biotech, nanotech etc.

I'm also interested in fcuking uppercaste arrogance whenever I can. because I hate incompetent people who are smug. and since I can't punch them in the face, I punch their beliefs with logic.

actually, I'm not conversant in all this sh1t. only just enough to irritate uppercaste assholes. and that's what i wanna do.
