Just because an Austrian asshole used the word Swastika that doesn't make it "the" Swastika of Hindus/Buddhists/Jains. That Austrian bugger was inspired by Greek art. The three-legged whirlwind, four-legged  whirlwind, twelve-legged whirlwind all were part of Greek culture and were also found in the excavations in Troy.  Neither that bugger drew inspiration from Vedas. Europe wouldn't have been what it is if not for this, of course this wasn't good news to Asian and African as well as the Americas(North and South) as "colonization" was given a religious color and pretty much as the mandate of God(Manifest Destiny) but it made sure that Europe rose to be the pre-eminent colonial power for a few centuries.

Not completely true, the word "Swastika" came about in British translations of the original works of Hitler esp his Mein Kampf. However, he didn't refer to it as the swastika he called it the hooked cross. hakenkreuz to be specific, and it was a pretty widely used symbol in a lot of churches around that time in Germany.
