The h4 status is typically gone,

but she can recapture easily 

- she can go stamping the h4 and h4 will be recapture

- if h4 i94 is valid she can fly to Mexico and get back

- When you extend your h1 you can apply

 

once 485 is penning you always pending AOS status (did not understand the question correctly bro)

yaa technically you are in Pending Adjustment of Status, as long as 485 is penning you are in legal you just need EAD for work and AP for travel
