Antha scene ledhu. Hongkong still has its own legislature, it own currency, its own stock exchange. China waited till 1998 for british to transfer hongkong. what did india do with goa? immideately conqured from portuguese. Criminal law is allowed by china to impose on HK. All they said is if any crime is committed by Hongkongese in mainland china then china will freely repatriate them to china.

Border crisis with india vasthe india pathith emi kadhu. Pangong lake, changi river - are these indian names.

Yes china has problems and i dont love it. But india must be made to see its succeses.  China is not as good as western countries in treating its citizens but far better than india.

It doesn't matter how long China waited to move in against HK. The simple fact is, whole HK is against new national security law that includes HK, and will mean that the CCP will monitor its internet.

the final bastion of freedom in the entire world is gone now.. thanks to China. I can see no reason why China should be praised here.

India is a uniquely disgusting nation. doesn't mean we stan China.

Hong Kong lo you can do anything without interference from the govt. even the US is not that free.

you can create whatever you want, as long as people around you are willing to participate in/buy it. Almost no regulations, except for some strict building restrictions because of space.

It used to be heaven on earth, It still is, but chinese are gonna spoil it. fcuk china.

Anyway this thread is not political and not meant to praise china. Somewhere i see people getting better and i  am happy for them

but you are discounting the fact that nationalism is dangerous. If it dangerous for India, with all that silly bhakt sloganeering, it is dangerous for China too.

would you praise Modi if he created a great economy?

I wouldn't. He'll always be the worst pm India ever had.

also creating a big economy with a huge population is not that big of an achievement. Every country China's size, and India's size has the resources to do it.

India will also create a great economy (just wait and see)... and you'll probably be praising Modi/BJP then.

But India will always remain a fashy scum nation, with third rate disgusting people. Doesn't matter if the people lived in squalor or in bungalows. scum is scum. India and china both disgusting naitons.

Yea i know. But there is a dark side to HK. It has one of the lowest welfare spending - esp under british rule. And complete laisse faire capitalism. you can get people to work for any wage like a dollar an hour if they are desperate enough. The same british however built a welfare state in UK. the simple reason they did not beleive that an asian man like HK chinese deserve welfare. That complete lax of regulations helped make it a capitalist heaven but with smallest houses in the world.

I prefer people live with less, and be happy.

in fact, that is the way to fight climate change.

we should look to make US poorer, Europe poorer. not China richer, India richer.

people should consume less and less... avoid meat if they have to survive.

this competitive nationalism is just poison.

Those who preach avoid meat should first avoid milk and show.

economy is a made up thing, man. HK is much more flexible than any other place in the world.

It won't be under china. It'll have strict bureaucratic controls over speech and action in the future.

Its a process. nobody has to show anything.

Its just an ideal that one should strive towards.

compulsive consumerism and creating economies around it is poison.
