A California doctor who protests pandemic lockdowns and vilifies vaccines while embracing hydroxychloroquine for COVID treatment admits she was inside the Capitol during Wednesday’s siege. Dr. Simone Gold told the Washington Post she indeed was the woman pictured on the Rotunda floor after it was overrun by a pro-Trump mob seeking to disrupt the certification of the 2020 presidential election. 

A doctor and outspoken critic of the coronavirus vaccine was among those who entered the Capitol building last week during the siege that disrupted the certification of the 2020 presidential election. “I do regret being there,” Gold told WAPO, saying she’s now worried her presence during the illegal riot will distract from her work with her Fox News-friendly advocacy group, America’s Frontline Doctors.

Simone Gold gained national attention in July when she and other physicians appeared in front of the Supreme Court for a sparsely attended news conference to decry pandemic lockdowns and criticize government efforts to stop the spread of the disease. Video of the event, organized by conservative activists, was retweeted by the president and viewed by millions before social media platforms took it down.

Former colleagues of Olympic gold medalist Klete Keller have reportedly identified the retired American swimmer as being at the U.S. Capitol on the day of the riot last week. Referencing a video shared by a Townhall reporter on social media, unidentified ex-teammates and coaches told The New York Times that they recognized the athlete.

Florida firefighter, Andrew Williams, has been arrested by the FBI after he was spotted wearing a Trump hat inside the Capitol while it was under siege by MAGA supporters. Williams, was taken into custody on Tuesday, according to a statement from the fire department's chief Crag Radzak. Following his arrest, Radzak said Williams was placed on administrative leave without pay pending the results of the criminal investigations. Radzak said the Sanford Fire Department was made aware of information regarding the possibility of a firefighter's involvement in events that took place last week at the Capitol in Washington, DC. 'Along with the information, a photograph was submitted that depicts a male, identified as Andrew Williams.
