Lets take another scenario.

Now Scenario lets say below is the end of year status for your stock trading for the fiscal year.

  • Stock A - Long Term - Profit = 2k
  • Stock B - Long Term - Profit = 5K
  • Stock C - Short Term - Loss = 8k
  • Stock D - Short Term - Profile = 1k
  • Stock E - Long Term - Loss = 4k

ikkada Long Term Gain  =  2-5-4 = -7k

long term gain = 1-8 = -7k

so overall ga he is on -14k loss.

he canot claim entire 14K as loss in deduction.

14K ni he can spread it over 4 years, and reduce 3K in loss for next 4 years, and 2K for the 5th year.

like 2022 lo in case if the person is in Net Gain situation of 10K, then he can deduct the 3K loss from previous year and show only 7K and pay tax for 7k only.

ala a 14K exhaust ayyenta varaku he can show the losses.

Can we still do standard deduction with Capital loss or do we have to do itemized ?? ( mostly standard should be fine anukuntunna )

Tax loss kosam ammevaalu ee point telise untadi but just mentioning it again.

Stock A : you invested 10000 and got 8000 profit

And then you reinvested 18000 back in stock B and got loss of 15000 leaving a balance of only 3k in your account.

then you can show only 3k as loss but you have to pay tax for the rest 5k(8k - 3k) you earned as profit earlier.

tondarapadi year end kada ani dhana dhan decisions teeskokandi
