CLX and EXR. Safe at this levels. guaranteed gains up to 20%. Both had stellar earnings last Q. also good for recession environment. (not like tech stocks).

CLX may have more downside.

  • Very high PE
  • Recent cyber attack. This incident is expected to result in sales exceeding 20%. That's a huge loss.
  • MotleyFool article on this stock recommending to buy. RUN AWAY when motley recommends. Pump and dump.
  • Big money not getting into it. Too much of short interest. Not much buying interest.

Positives - Good company, Decent dividend, recession proof business.

Do you have more info on the merger of EXR and the dividend expectations in 2024?

JETS. Expense ratio is a little bit high at 0.6%. They are'nt paying dividend after 2021. I would not invest in it.

There are some others but they seem to be more Transport company heavy than airlines. I would rather invest in the top 3 SouthWest (LUV), Delta (DAL) and American Airlines (AA)

Heard a lot about expense ratio when dealing with ETFs but don’t understand it.

Say I bought the ETF for $100 and sell for $120… my profit would be $20(later tax deduct per income bracket) will expense ratio take a cut in profit of $20 ?

Expense ratios are admin charges. Every ETF also has an NAV (Net Asset Value). NAV is calculated after deducing the funds Operating expenses. These ETF prices are dependent on the NAV values. Most times they trade at a premium (more than NAV) and sometimes at a discount to NAV. Usually when they trade at a discount, it has good value for us.

In the example you have taken, Your profit is still $20.

Lets assume NAV of this stock is $115 if its trading at $120.

Lets assume a Net expense ration 0f 2% which is $2.3 (on NAV). At "0%" expense ratio, NAV of this stock could have been 117.23 and the stock would have been  trading at $123. So you missed out on that $3.

IF an ETF is giving Dividend distributions, these expenses are deduced from their profits and distributed after that.

U day trade?

I have  been investing since long ... short term, medium term and long term. Market has always been like this. There are manipulations. Somethings which come to mind right away

  • Pot stocks like Tilray, CGC touching 200, 100 respectively. They are less than a 1$ now.
  • 3-D printing hype. DDD and SSYS were 200+
  • Pharma stock craze during 2012-2015

Its a good long term bet. But the chances of it going down short term are more if market drops. Buy more if it drops. I would say its holding up pretty good.

Tesla is playing a battle with other EV companies. Price wars going on trying to grab market share. Tesla plan is to let other companies go bankrupt. Its has established assembly line and can scale up production. It has most EV cars on the road and the data which is golden.

Remember why you bought the stock in the first place. Stop looking at market every day when its dropping.
