India's never ending defense expenses

India recently decided to spend 48000 crore on Tejas. Just few months before it spent another 30,000 crore on urgent basis to procure mig29 and other weapons because it lost some 10 kms of land in china border with names like Pangong lake and changi river (doesnt sound indian at all).

what do we get with this spending of 78000 crore ? a bunch of metal tubes which can fly and bomb. Tejas especially is a trash plane with zero export interest and is actually more expensive than Su-30 MKI plane which is huge. 

India's annual budget is $60 billion USD or more than 4 lak crores. And also a great deal of forex is wasted on it as most arms are imported. India imports even rifles from a tiny country like Dubai.

But why all this expense - the only real problem india has is kashmir where india is dutybound to hold a referendum but it wont. Instead it prefers killing the people there and sacrificing indian soldiers. There is another border problem with china which is mostly a british colonial border issue india can resolve with give and take. I mean WTF is pangong lake - most indians dont even dream of such places leave alone talk about them. why should people die for it and why cant india solve it through talks.

IN last 70 years india could not solve kashmir problem politically or militarily but throws billions and billions of our money for its empire like ego of occupying lands without consent of people there. Not to mention thsouands of indian soliders it sacrificed.

And what is worse is  we in andhra/tg  does not have any security challenges . we are surronded by tamil nadu, kar, maha - all peaceful societiees. But our forex and taxes are extracted every year to defend india's colonial borders. sad.

We are in a bad geographical position , it is a curse we have to live with .

We in andhra/tg are not in a bad position at all. we are surrounded by peaceful societies. India is in a bad position because it simply acquired british borders - does pangong, changi sound indians to you ? and refused to negotiate with china.  IN 1961 china offered to end all border disputes by asking india to recognize aksai chin (which  china anyway occupied) and china will recognize arunachal (which china occupied in war but magnanimously returned the land to india). But nehru refused. Now china no longer has the offer on table.

India behaves like an empire and abuses its people by spending their money on international arms and british borders. And occupation of kashmir.

We are in no position to negotiate with China now , it is what it is . We have to accept that move on and wait for any oppurtunity for peace. 

Hopefully we will make peace with China / Pakistan . It is in our best interests to live in peaceful region even if we don't like them .

If Pakistan does better , we will also do better over the long run .

I am not giving character certificate to china. but just saying how they approached us and how we approached them. china solved all land border issues with all its neighbors except india with give and take - they had much bigger disputes with Russia but all solved. they only have sea border and island issues. But think frankly - how did india get lands such as nagas, mizos, ladakh, andamans etc - is it not because of british? then after british left should we not re-negotiate them. If you behave like an empire expect people to hate you.

Basically indian govt and society seems to have succesfully brainwashed indian masses in to thinking everyone else is scary bad people whereas it is the only patith. Our day to day interactions tell us indian govt is corrupt, cunning and discriminatory but we still beleive nationalist rhetoric and remain in poverty.
