Long story short, I had a close friend who is younger than me and got into my company. Worked hard and was smart but was very new. I wasn't in his same team but sat next to him. Well months go by and something is off. He doesn't get the help he needs and manager won't respond. But another new guy, exact same experience, gets to sit next to experienced dev and gets hand held. 
One day my friend gets fed up and went over to them to ask a question and that guy says 'can't you tell im busy?' and so my friend says well I asked you a question 3 times through email and you seem to be not answering me. That other guys says 'yea cuz I'm busy' and then my friend goes 'wtf you haven't helped me once even if you're my coding mentor'. Eventually manager gets involved cuz it's getting roudy and manager says look, he's busy. Figure it out on your own. And my friend goes, but I need the pw too! I asked for pw 5 times to both of you for 3rd repo and you guys haven't sent me anything. Manager tells him to pipe down and gives him pw.
After a week, he gets notice that he's being laid off.

At this point I realize this is way unfair the way he's been treated and decide to research. I find out 2 months later what happened. The other guy who got hired, the manager approached him and said if you give me 25% of salary and 10% to this buddy, we will focus only on you and give you stellar review on everything. Turns out this manager did this for all his career and was more spread out then my friend and 3 other people were fired and 3 kept this way.

I thoroughly investigate and report (with insider help who started to detest this criminal activity and wanted to oust them also) with all documents and manager and those 3 employees go into investigation. After 8 months, all were fired and Deported back to their country. Say what you will but I feel *** great. If it had been you where you refused to compromise 30% of you salary for unfair advantage cuz that's the right thing, you'd agree.

Glad this resonates with people. If you're doing this as a manager, you, and I hope you live with the fear of being ousted and found out one day all your life.

I purposefully left out country for obvious reasons.  Not everyone in that country is bad. It's just certain people that are.

All managers do same, we have link with Desi prime vendors who pay 15-20% min on each contracting candidate. They pay in India or books trips to different countries once a year, bring high end scotch for holidays etc and many perks for free kaka
