Rape in india , 1 in every 40 women !

The actual rate of rape is 2,477.2 per 100,000 women with an under-reporting rate of 99.1%. If we extrapolate this using the present population of women in India which is about 663 million, there would be over about 16.4 million cases of rape in a year. In the spine chilling revelation of the morbid reality, that is one rape every 40 women.
