Why LaFleur didn't go on 4th down...

LaFleur saw 1st hand what TB12 can do in the SBLI as he was the coordinator for Atlanta Falcons in that game. He may have thought even if they go ahead and score a TD and convert 2 pt, there still be a lot of time left for TB12 to score a FG to win the game or a TD in OT. Probably scared of him becoming unstoppable comeback Tom.

He thought Tampa Bay will go conservative and punt with enough time left for a quick TD or Hail Mary to WIN the game, not to tie.

Not a bad decision and sad to see people and analyst roasting him for that decision.

Just my 2 cents, what do you think?

He went by Analytics. chance of winning was 10 % at that time if goes for it and 9.5% if he kicks field goal. He chose field goal since it was not a huge difference. It is a questionable call though.

most ridiculous choice and old school coaching mindset. Take a look at Andy Reed or for that matter Bruce Arians and how aggressive they were throughout the season. When you have MVP of season as QB..kicking a FG is beyond ridiculous.

6 attempts in Redzone, couldn't score. May be he was thinking about that?

What about the other 3 positions where they scored...When the game is on the line it's better to trust ur best player to make the plays of u..at worse TB co would've started the drive at their own 8 yard line...

Anyhow no point in discussing it now..The team made critical mental errors which costed them the game.....

I was expecting a fake field goal atrmept and go for fourth down... There were plenty of opportunities in the game they couldnt convert and it's all came down to one play finally... Beauty of football

Agree totally. I am just thinking about what LaFleur was thinking.. He may have a trick play up his sleves which might not work from redzone but from far field.
