Looking for a pet dog for kids..

Looking for a pet dog for my kids.. Below are   my requirments

1)want a dog that doesn't  shed much and drool all over the house..

2)Not very aggressive behavior

3)Less maintenance dog .

I want to get small one where can i buy a dog other than pet store??

Craigslist...local owners/ sometimes advertise for new born puppies.

waste avi..maintainence ekkuva..

like Maltese, Poodle, etc

Before getting a dog ...are you sure you can take care of it well ? 

Do you have facilities to care of it when you are going on vacation ? 

Are you prepared to spend time to take it outside for a walk twice a day ? 

Have you looked into the charges by the vet ?

We have  a pet care to take care if we go to vacation ..Yea i am prepared to talke dog for a walk everyday i will be active the same time.. Insurance monthly 40$ in my area ..I WFH all the time  so i can spend more time..

1. Point is quite hard  you will be forced to go for terrier , hound , poodle type dogs .  Personally I wouldn't recommend them as beginner dogs .

2. Labrador, golden retriever are the best,great with kids and easy to feed   .

Although they shed a lot .

3. No matter what dog you get you need to spend atleast 30 mins a day for their needs , for feeding , keeping fresh water , 

 

or You can train your kids to take them for walk , clean up after them.  It will give them sense of responsibility at early age itself .

 

My biggest tip for you as dog owner is to not to over feed the dogs , keep them in a healthy weight . It will lead to a long , healthy life

labs are the best..but most shedding vatike untadi....

Yeah due to work from home , all dog prices have doubled , tripled easily .

Thanks for taking time and explaining in detail..I appreciate your support..Frd finally got labrador retriever 1 week back form local breeder.

It got a big boost with work from home , office goers who were too busy before suddenly have time to spare . 

Those who always wanted to get a pet but could not do so due to time constraints are getting them .
