TIRUPATI: Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams Chairman YV Subba Reddy along with Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham pontiff Vijayendra Saraswati laid the foundation stone for Goddess Padmavathi Ammavari temple at Chennai in Tamil Nadu on Sunday. The new temple which will be ready for pilgrim worship in two years from now, will be TTD's second temple in Chennai city and 4th temple in Tamil Nadu.

Kanchi mutt pontiff Vijayendra Saraswati appreciated TTD for spearheading the propagation of the Hindu Sanathana Dharma by constructing more and more temples across the country. "Constructing a temple dedicated to the Goddess of wealth at Chennai will usher in prosperity on the entire state", asserted Vijayendra Saraswati.

TTD will be spending Rs.6.85 crore towards the construction of the new shrine which is its fourth temple in the state of Tamil Nadu.
TTD Chairman YV Subba Reddy told reporters that special invitee to the TTD trust board AJ Sekhar Reddy will donate Rs.1 crore towards the construction of the new temple, while the remaining funds will be pooled in by the TTD.

"We thank yesteryear actress Kanchana for donating Rs.40 crore worth land for the construction of the new temple", added YV Subba Reddy.

We also have plans to construct Sri Venkateswara Swamy Divyakshetram in Chennai city. The Tamil Nadu state government has already given its consent to allot 15 acres of land either along the OMR road or along the ECR in Chennai city. We will soon finalize the most conducive site and commence the construction of one more TTD temple with more pilgrim amenities at the new site", added YV Subba Reddy.
