Jagan's ex-advisor to advise Sharmila, too?

Y S Sharmila, daughter of former Andhra Pradesh chief minister late Y S Rajasekhar Reddy, who has been making hectic preparations for the launch of a new regional party in Telangana, has been speaking to a cross section of people and inviting intellectuals to take their suggestions.

As part of that, Sharmila on Monday evening had a long talk with senior journalist K Ramachandra Murthy and sought his advice over the modalities on launching the party and how to go about with it in the coming days.

This has come as a big surprise to many, as Ramachandra Murthy had till recently been an advisor to YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy in public affairs. Earlier, he had been the editorial director of Sakshi, the media house promoted by Jagan.

Murthy quit as Jagan’s advisor a few months ago, as he was not feeling comfortable in the Andhra government due to bureaucratic hassles.

Moreover, he felt he did not have enough work to do as an advisor. After coming out from the AP government, he has been running a news portal.

He reportedly has agreed to advise Sharmila on working out the party’s philosophy, agenda, how to take the policies and programmes into the people etc.

He also advised her to launch the party in a big way, rather than as a low-key affair.

If everything works out, Murthy can even be the political advisor of Sharmila in the coming days, say sources close to her.
