They ** up the economy and have obligations to compensate for GST . 

Petrol rates are a reflection of low GDP growth over the last five years. When all options are exhausted for center , they had to resort to this . 

State governments kooda anthey , when spending becomes high and income generation becomes too low they will resort to taxing fuel since it's the easiest  short term fix

Boss I am most familiar with sugarcane industry , never believe those words . 

It is a way to propup the mills in UP / maharastra and pay arrears .40 rupees isthunaru ethanol ki , it's not a sustainable proposition in india . 

90% of mills in anhra / tamil nadu are shut down in last 5 years . My father will stop growing sugarcane after 40 years

Sugar industry is going to enter an era of deficiency in a year or two years simply because current market price is unsustainable

Excess production by giving subsidies to UP farmers is one of the main reason , sugar mills in that state get easy access to loans because of influence in center . 

Another problem down south is labour cost is almost double or triple that of maharastra / UP . 900/ tonne isthey memu emi thinali  .

Like all stressed industry , lot of mills are going to close shop and many farmers will abandon the crop due to irregular payment . overall sugar plantation will shrink a lot and the prices will automatically rise .

TBH we should have already entered that phase if not for thousands of crores of subsidies by UP/ central govt
