Socialistic policies are of course to be blamed. The subsidies are a burden that the general public have yo bear without a choice.

RBI is not publicly releasing the information citing technical , judicial reasons .

The only figures we are getting are the individual banks write off amount.  Just Hyderabad based companies account for more than one lakh crores so far and more are coming out day by day

Willful defaulters loans amount to 1.61 lakh crores per RBI. Not sure the source for newspaper snippet that @Somedude posted. I’m assuming that to be all the loan waivers (farm/education) from central/state governments. It’s a ripple effect anyway. As long as the governments do not come out of the socialistic subsidy policies, uncalled for loan waivers the burden is eventually on the tax payers.

This was as of December 2018 when they gave information under RTI but earlier they didn't give details... Even recently also RBI told they don't have data of top 50/100 wilfull defaulters..

The Figure mentioned seems to be after many write offs..

Major wilful defaulters revealed: RBI finally discloses details under RTI | Business Standard News (business-standard.com)

To put this in perspective, as of December 2018, over 11,000 companies had willfully defaulted on amounts worth over Rs 1.61 lakh crore, according to TransUnion Cibil data.

RBI says it has no information on loans of top 100 wilful defaulters written off by banks

Pretty sure top 100 will be account for more than 90% of the amount

Govt always tons of data about anti nationals but seemingly zero information about such trivial matters
